Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Saw this restaurant listed on the Michelin guide and it did not disappoint! Had the 7 course tasting menu and each dish was fabulous. There were one or two dishes that just missed with the sauce accompaniment (in my humble opinion) but otherwise, it was a phenomenal experience to end my vacation. My server Jessica was very knowledgeable and she was able to translate the intricacies of each dish perfectly from Spanish to English. Very affordable tasting menu for the quality and amount of food, and I highly recommend!"
"We revisited Restaurante Promesa for a memorable New Year’s Day meal. Loved the house cocktail, amuse bouche and trio of butters. Enjoyed the progression from refined oysters and gildas to a hearty roast monkfish shared main course recommended by our server to accommodate a pescatarian dietary restriction. The sommelier’s recommendation for a local garnacha from the Sierras de Málaga was spot-on!"
"First visit and pleasantly surprised. Wasn't expecting much and was blown away. Silver service trained staff, knowledgeable, attentive and with a smile. Panacotta, easy to make and damned hard to get correct. They nailed it. Great food, great flavours."
"Took my boyfriend here to a birthday dinner while staying in Malaga, and firstly I want to say the food was outstanding. We had the Promesa tasting menu and everything was just stunning. The service was also absolutely fantastic and very attentive. My only small issue was it was lacking some attention to detail. I was given a knife that was bent on the very end causing a sharp corner, which of course could have been dangerous. We are also given the wrong wine glasses on a couple of occasions for the wine pairing. The positives far outweighed the negatives and I would absolutely return, I’d just advise the staff to tighten up on the small details and it would be faultless."
"The best I ever had: Beaf tartare Olive oil Orange juice Amazing oysters. If they work on space, temperature etc (Atmosphere) this place can be the best."
"We had a great dinner here! We got the Russian salad, the brioche with the pig and the shrimp tempura and the shrimp tartar for starters. For main we had the fish (kind of corvina). The dessert was the pannacota with olive oil, salt and chocolate. That Russian salad and the dessert was amazing. Everything was super tasty but those were unexpectedly well prepared. The wine als exceptional. Specia thanks also to our host Julia for her honest advise about what to order and the welcoming atmosphere. Totally recommended!"
"A very good descent restaurant. Visited it many times. This time we ordered just appetisers and a couple of primes to share: oysters, anchovy on thin ("glass") toast, foie gras with turrón, Fuengirola shrips and artichokes. Everything was very tasty. Champagne was superb too! They also serve seasonal menus from time to time. Mushrooms seasonal menu (degustation set) is to die for!"
"We arrived without invitation but managed to receive a table. Sabrina waited for us the whole night, and the experience was great! The dishes were exquisite, Meagre was the best, very tasty, especially the fish was cut and cooked to perfection (when needed). They offered us the house cocktail, Promesa, which had won an award, and it's really one of the best!"
